Placeable objects being overhauled have some special properties, ie; they sometimes generate light and sometimes have environment maps added.

Placeables also get portraits, and these will be upscaled.

The labels of much of the content in the 2da could be better tailored to be like the blueprint names.

New Placeables

Model names in the game vary - PLC_ for original Bioware ones, PLC_X0_ for SoU and PX2_ for HotU. Then there is a large variety (DAG, PWC, TNP) for various other included models from DLC.

New naming convention should probably be p_op_XXX.mdl - XXX could be up to 11 characters, or 9 if taking into account texture length limits.

Quick Placeable HD Notes For Now

Beamdog provided some upgraded HD placeables as part of their Halls of Justice showcase. These are pretty common ones (bedroll, chair, table, stool) so useful to include. Textures need a heightmap pass however, and the models need the bitmap/texture1/texture2 converted to be clearer and MTR only.

This should be categorised like the palette for easier finding but for now a complete list of 1200 PLC's.

Note there are duplicate models, mainly for light purposes:

  • Removal of ambient light options
  • Colouring of the light

The duplicates will be left as-is for now.

Note the texture replacements on the original models will be noted on the Overhaul Placeables - Textures page. Only brand new models and textures replacing the below models will be referenced here.
