Overhaul Changes

  • In a reasonably good place now engine has some bug fixes (when the ability is disabled)
  • Could have ways to replenish the uses of Defensive Stance, or for easier difficulty/as an option turn off the limits entirely

We might add in Dwarvern Waraxe as a free feat for Dwarfs which would make this an even more tempting choice.

Overhaul Description

(PRESTIGE CLASS)
The defender is a sponsored champion of a dwarven cause, a dwarven aristocrat, a dwarven deity or the dwarven way of life. As the name might imply, this character is a skilled combatant trained in the arts of defense. A line of dwarven defenders is a far better defense than a 10-foot-thick wall of stone, and much more dangerous.

- Hit Die: d12
- Proficiencies: Simple and Martial Weapons, Light, Medium and Heavy Armor Proficiency, Shields
- Skill Points: 2 + Int Modifier.
- Primary saving throw(s): Fortitude, Will
- Base attack bonus: High (+1 per level)

REQUIREMENTS:

Alignment: Any lawful.
Race: Dwarf
Feats: Dodge, Toughness.
Base Attack Bonus: +7

ABILITIES:

Level
1: Defensive stance 1/day  - Gain +2 Str, +4 Con, +2 on all saves, +4 dodge bonus on AC.
  Defensive awareness  - Dexterity bonus to AC even when flat-footed.
3: Defensive stance 2/day.
5: Defensive stance 3/day.
  Defensive awareness  - The character can not  be flanked anymore.
6: Damage reduction (3).
7: Defensive stance 4/day.
9: Defensive stance 5/day.
10: Damage reduction (6).
  Defensive awareness - The character gains a +1 saving throw bonus vs traps.

EPIC LEVELS:

You have become the very definition of immovable object. You are a stalwart warrior that can stand your ground against virtually any foe imaginable.

Hit Die: d12
Skill Points at Each Additional Level: 2+ Int Modifier
Bonus Feats:  The epic dwarven defender gains a bonus feat every four levels
Special:
 Defensive Stance: an additional use per day is gained for every two levels past 9th.
 Damage Reduction: the damage reduction increases by 3 points for every four levels above 10th.

Epic Dwarven Defender Bonus Feats List:
Armor Skin, Damage Reduction, Devastating Critical, Energy Resistance, Epic Toughness, Epic Prowess, Epic Weapon Focus, Overwhelming Critical, Perfect Health.
