Overhaul Changes

  • Renamed to just Dragon Disciple
  • Do we add bonus spells as per the original? Annoyingly you can't do 1, 1, 0, 1, 1...closest we can get (since it usually adds up to 7 caster levels at 10) is actually 5 with the Pale Master progression.
    • Would be better for casters at least to take the class and hope for engine updates on this later.

Different Dragon Colours

For now it's a pain doing some of these changes without a bigger script framework to work off so holding off this for now.

  • Make it a general Dragon Disciple (rename the class as such) and at level 1 of Dragon Disciple you can choose your upgrades via. a feat. Keep most of the bonuses the same (they are in the original class anyway) which means we can use the HD changes nicely.
    • Difficulty with the VFX for the dragon breath but we might be able to have a bonus feat that has prereqs based on the original feat choice and therefore pop in that feat as the only option
      • Alternatively have the ability fire off a new ActionCast... action?
      • Need to code it so the packages pick Red by default to not break things with modules like Deekin in HotU
    • The Fire Immunity can be removed and done with effects to have different damage immunities
    • Wings would need recolouring at least - could use texture overrides or use SetCreatureWingType() is easy enough OnPlayerLevelUp.
  • Do we add bonus spells as per the original? Annoyingly you can't do 1, 1, 0, 1, 1... but maybe we can fudge something with the floating variable and integer maths it results in

Overhaul Description

It is rumored that the magical powers of sorcerers and bards is somehow connected to the presence of dragon blood in their family tree. Dragon Disciples are sorcerers, and sometimes bards, who use their magical power as a catalyst to ignite their red dragon blood, realizing its fullest potential. They prefer a life of exploration to a cloistered existence. Already adept at magic, many pursue adventure, especially if it furthers their goal of finding out more about their draconic heritage. They often feel drawn to areas known to harbor dragons.

- Hit Die: Special (see below).
- Proficiencies: A dragon disciple does not gain any additional weapon or armor proficiencies.
- Skill Points: 2 + Int Modifier.
- Class Skills: Concentration, Craft Armor, Craft Trap, Craft Weapon, Discipline, Heal, Listen, Lore, Parry, Persuade, Search, Spellcraft, Spot.
- Primary saving throw(s): Fortitude, Will.
- Base attack bonus: Medium (+3/4 per level).

Class: Sorcerer or Bard
Skills: 8 Ranks in Lore

ABILITIES:

Level
1: Draconic Armor - The character's skin develops nearly invisible scales that increase his/her natural armor class by +1.
  Hit Dice Increase (d6) - The character rolls d6 for hit points. This change is not retroactive.
  Draconic Heritiage - The character chooses the type of dragon disciple they will be. This affects the breath weapon damage type and damage immunity at level 10. 
2: Draconic Ability Scores -  Strength +2.
3: Breath Weapon I - The character can breathe a cone of damage, dealing 2d10 points of damage to each opponent caught in the area.
4: Hit Dice Increase (d8) - The character rolls d8 for hit points. This change is not retroactive.
  Draconic Ability Scores -  Strength +2.
5: Draconic Armor  - The character's skin becomes even harder, raising his/her natural armor class to +2.
6: Hit Dice Increase (d10)  - The character rolls d10 for hit points.  This change is not retroactive.
7: Breath Weapon II - The character's breath weapon damage potential increases to 4d10 points of damage.
  Draconic Ability Scores - Constitution  +2.
8: Draconic Armor - The character's natural armor class increases to +3.
9: Wings  - The character grows dragon wings.
  Draconic Ability Scores - Intelligence +2.
10: Draconic Armor  - +4 Natural Armor.
  Darkvision - The character gains a dragon's ability to see in the dark.
  Immunity to sleep, paralysis
  100% damage immunity increase based on their draconic heritage choice (eg red dragon gets +100% fire damage immunity increase).
  Draconic Ability Scores - Strength +4, Charisma +2.
  Breath Weapon III - The character does 6d10 points of damage with his breath weapon.

Hit Die: d12.
Skill Points at Each Additional Level: 2 + Int Modifier.
Bonus Feats: The epic dragon disciple gains a bonus feat every four levels after 10th.
Special:
 Breath Weapon: Your breath weapon damage potential increases by 1d10 for every 3 levels after 10th. The save DC against your breath weapon increases by +1 every 4 levels after 10th.
 Draconic Armor: Your natural AC increases by +1 for every 5 levels after 10th.
